Top 5 Tuesday is a weekely post created and hosted by the lovely Shannah at Bionic Book Worm. She’s an absolute sweetheart and her blog is amazing so make sure to check out her blog if you haven’t yet!
This week’s topic is Top 5 covers of 2019!
The Cold is in Her Bones by Peternelle van Arsdale
This is one of the most stunning covers I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m really into this style for book covers, as you’ll see as soon as you scroll down the list. I actually own this book but I have unfortunately not read it yet. It’s a medusa retelling, if you couldn’t tell by the little snakes around her hair and I cound’t think of a better cover for the story.
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
This one is similar to the last one in style, I guess I really like drawing of girls on my covers. It’s funny because An Enchantment of Ravens, also by the same author, made it to my best covers of 2017, and now her sophomore novel is featured in this list! She’s been so lucky with her covers and I couldn’t me more happy.
This particular novel features magical, secret libraries. That’s all I know, that’s all I need.
Wilder Girls by Rory Power
This is a YA-fantasy/horror novel that has been getting a lot of buzz lately. No wander why, having that cover making everybody drool all over the place!
I don’t purchase a lot of books in hardcover, in fact I bearly ever do that since they are a lot more expensive and heavier, although I’ll admit a lot prettier to look at. With this one in particular, I’m already saving to purchase it in hardcover eventually.
The Meaning of Birds by Jaye Robin Brown
This is a YA-contemporary novel featuring an f-f relationship and dealing with grief. We finally have a different cover style, although I’m still very much into girls and drawings on my covers apparently.
There’s something about these two girls, the way they wear their hair and how they are dressed that just scream queer to me.
The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
Finally a cover a bit different from the rest, but which I love just as much. This story is about the brides of Dracula.
The vibes of the cover match so perfectly the storyline. This is definitely one of my most anticipated releases of 2019 that’s coming later in the month, on September 19th, so make sure to keep an eye out for it!
What are your favorite covers of 2019? Do we have any in common? Let me know!
Until next time,
